I'm a long-time LightWave user, originally from the UK, but now resident in sunny Los Angeles, although I work with companies on both sides of the Atlantic. You can find out more about me if you're interested.
I used to be quite active in the LightWave community, especially on the old mailing list, but other priorities have got in the way in recent years and I've let things slide. It's time to redress the balance and I hope this site will be a step in the right direction...
The main purpose of this site is to pass on some of the techniques I've learned and developed over the last fifteen or so years and, where needed, to explain the thinking behind it. See the Setup Tab for more information.
I've also developed a variety of tools in LScript and plugins - you can find out more by clicking on the Utilities Tab.
There's always more to come, so do check back often...
25 June 2009: Updates to Smart-Save 2 and Zip-It 4 in the files area. Still not sure why Zip-It is the hands-down winner in Scene Packaging? Learn how Quick-Zip makes life easier.
25 January 2009: Zip-It 4.1 includes the long-awaited Quick-Zip function that allows you to zip only the files you have recently changed! (Win32/64)
13 January 2009: The full release of Smart-Save 2 with Smart-Revert is available for download (Win32/64).
14 November: New Utilities available:
Selection Tools includes Invert Selection, Select All Nulls and Wildcard Select plugins - not very sexy, but very useful...
Scene-Checker - quickly verifies scene settings by comparing with a previous example scene.
Pattern Replace - easily replace objects (e.g. Proxy or Beauty objects) en masse... a really useful production tool.
