Running FPrime's WSN on Butterfly Net Render

1. Copy the WSN.exe file to your LightWave Programs directory - the same one that contains Layout, Modeler and LWSN.exe

2. In the BNR controller: File Menu --> Edit Custom Types

3. Select an empty slot, and a dialog opens, as shown below:

4. Fill out as shown above:

a. In the dropdown menu near the top right that shows "Inactive", select LightWave Icon

b. In the Custom Object Name enter Worley Screamer Net

c. In the Valid Scene Exts, enter *.lws

d. Check the Read Scene File with setting to use LightWave (lws) Reader

5. Go to the Files tab:

6. Fill out as shown above:

a. In the Render exe box enter the path to the WSN.exe file from Step 1

b. In the Dir 1 box, enter the path of your LightWave Config folder

c. In the Dir 2 box, enter the path to your Content Directory - if you've read my guide on Organizing LightWave's Content Directory, you'll know that there are great advantages to what I call the Studio structure - this is one of those times!

7. Go to the Command tab:

8. Enter the Custom Command as shown above

9. Click OK and you're ready to go...

Finally, don't forget that scenes must be added with the Add Custom Scene command, or they'll be rendered by the standard LightWave setup!
